Mandy's Salon Hard Wax (Face, Legs & Body 300g)$16.00
Mandy's Salon Hard Wax is a microwavable, peel-off wax that removes unwanted facial and body hair. The wax is heated in a microwave and once applied, hardens to form its own strip, which is then peeled off removing the hair and roots. No cloth strips required!
Mandy's Salon Hard Wax is infused with Hibiscus extract, known for its moisturising, soothing and anti-oxidant properties. Mandy's Salon Hard Wax is especially effective for short hair, making it ideal for every area of your body including face, bikini and underarm waxing.
The warmth of the wax allows the pores to open so that the hair can slide out gently and easily. This reduces pain and inflammation. Regular waxing ensures that re-growth is slower and noticeably finer. The more you wax the less your hair grows back! The skin is left smooth and soft and hair free for up to 4 weeks.
- Higher wattage microwave ovens will heat wax at a quicker rate – use the timings as a guideline.
- Stir the hard wax with a spatula to ensure that the heat is distributed evenly through the wax.
- Apply a light sprinkling of talc to the area you’re going to wax – spread evenly over the area. This helps absorb any excess moisture or body oil that may impair the performance of the wax.
- Don’t reuse or recycle wax. It’s not only unhygienic, but also causes the wax to become brittle and less effective.
- Keep your skin in tip-top condition by moisturising and exfoliating it regularly. This way you’ll avoid unwanted ingrown hairs.
Prior waxing experience recommended.
Always read and follow the detailed directions in instruction leaflet carefully and precisely.
Place the jar on a microwave safe plate, and place it in the CENTRE of the turntable. Microwave on high for 90 seconds. If the wax becomes too thin and runny or bubbles appear, it has been overheated – allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before handling. Carefully remove plate and jar using an oven glove or towel and gently place on a level counter top. Dip spatula carefully into wax and stir to an even consistency, similar to that of thick honey. Test wax by applying a small amount to the inside of your wrist. The wax should feel comfortably warm on the skin. If the wax is too hot, allow to cool for a further 5 minutes and repeat temperature test above before proceeding.
Apply wax AGAINST direction of hair growth – allow to set. Pat fingers on wax to test tackiness – when the tackiness has gone the wax should be ready to remove.
Using your fingertips, loosen the edge of the wax at the bottom of the formed strip.
Hold the skin taut with one hand and grip the bottom of the wax with the other. Pull back quickly, close to the skin (parallel to skin – NOT UP) and AGAINST the direction of hair growth. Immediately place firm pressure onto the waxed area with your hands to relieve any discomfort. Do not leave the spatula in the jar after waxing as the wax will harden around it. Scrape the spatula against the edge of the jar to remove excess wax.
Legs: Apply wax in vertical strips approximately 10 cm long and 7 cm wide. Underarms: As the underarm hair grows in 2 different directions, it is recommended that waxing be done in 2 sections. Always apply AGAINST the direction of hair growth and remove AGAINST hair growth.
Bikini: Check the direction of hair growth – usually this is inward to the inside of the leg. Apply in vertical strips approximately 5 cm long and 2 cm wide.
Upper lip: As the upper lip hair grows in 2 different directions from the centre of your upper lip, it is recommended that waxing should be done in 2 sections. Apply wax AGAINST the direction of hair growth on the one side. Hold the skin taut, and remove by pulling the strip upwards towards the nose. Repeat procedure on the other side.
Chin: Hold skin taut on side of face before removing in opposite direction.
THE JAR MELTED DURING MICROWAVE HEATING. WHY?
The microwave jars are industry standard and designed to withstand microwaves. Sometimes faulty microwave ovens that don’t have even microwave distribution can cause a “drilling” effect to occur. The wax may have been over heated (i.e. correct time was not adhered to).
MY SKIN BURNT DURING WAXING. WHAT WENT WRONG?
The wax was applied when too hot. ALWAYS ADHERE TO CORRECT HEATING TIMES. The wax temperature should be tested on the inside of your wrist before you begin waxing. It should never be uncomfortably hot
CAN I HEAT IN AN ELECTRONIC HEATING UNIT?
No – the wax is formulated for microwave heating only.
WAX WAS TOO BRITTLE TO REMOVE. WHY?
You may have applied it too thinly or have waited too long. Apply another layer of wax over the wax on your skin. The new layer of warm wax will heat up the bottom layer and make it easier to remove. Small amounts of wax can be removed using baby oil, olive oil or body lotion.
