Yes, Plunkett’s Aloe Vera products do not contain any animal-derived ingredients or by-products, such as milk, egg, lanolin or honey etc.

The aloe vera plant itself is known as “Nature’s medicine plant” which soothes, cools and restores the skin. One of the many great properties of aloe vera is that it hydrates the skin (preventing water loss).

Using Plunkett’s Aloe Vera should be absolutely fine especially as it uses natural ingredients, but if at all you are concerned please consult your doctor.

Using Plunkett’s Aloe Vera should be absolutely fine especially as it uses natural ingredients, but if at all you are concerned please consult your doctor.

Using Plunkett’s Aloe Vera on a baby’s skin should be fine however we do recommend doing a small patch test on the inside of the arm first, as people can react to many different ingredients.

Yes, our Aloe Vera can be used on hair and scalp. Some people like to use the gel mixed into their Shampoo. While others prefer to use the spray. Either will be of benefit to your hair and scalp care.

Unfortunately, we can't recommend our Aloe Vera for use in your mouth. We are not sure whether the preservatives are suitable for this purpose - as per the pack, it is formulated for external use.

Our Aloe Vera gel is 99% pure aloe vera. Aloe Vera has strong anti-bacterial properties. The next ingredient (in descending order) is allantoin. Since the gel is oil-free and so pure, it should not block pores, but we have not conducted testing to support this.

Our 99% Pure Aloe Vera has no artificial colours and is clear although it may darken naturally over time.

People can have reactions to any number of ingredients (whether they are natural or not), and so we always recommend that the customer does a small patch test on their inner arm to check if they have any reactions before applying large amounts. If you have a reaction, stop using the product. We do offer a full money-back guarantee, so please contact us for further assistance.

Yes, the gel can be used on the face as long as the eye area is avoided, as stated in the directions. This is because the preservative may sting the eyes.  A robust preservative system is used because Plunkett’s 99% Pure Aloe Vera is a highly active product (Aloe Vera is biologically active). The Aloe Vera plant contains many active components including vitamins, minerals, saccharides, amino acids, enzymes, salicylic acids and more.  The preservative system prevents the growth of bacteria, moulds, fungus, and yeast thereby maintaining the product’s shelf life and ensuring its efficacy.  Some people may experience eye-sting, even when not applied around the eyes.  Should this occur, discontinue use on the face and only use on the body

Good product, eye sting a bit

Does sting the eyes a tiny bit but it only lasts a few seconds and It’s expected since it’s such a pure aloe Vera product.
I use it as a quick mask

It's aloe vera!

I had the 240ml version shipped to New Zealand over the holidays and have been using it for a few weeks now. It's aloe vera, unlike gels with insignificant quantities of aloe vera added in, so if you want to add real aloe vera to your skincare routine without using an actual plant, this is the gel to use. If you've tried other "aloe vera gels" you'll notice the difference immediately, this gel is much superior. The only negative is that others have complained about eyes stinging, and I have experienced this as well but not every time. I think the main trigger is breathing in the fumes because when I held my breath my eyes didn't sting. The stinging was negligible for me, but I may just be tolerant to it, and in any case it only persists for a few seconds. It is well worth the money and well worth the minor and fleeting discomfort for real aloe vera.

Stings and irritates my skin 😔

I was previously using Banana Boat’s Aloe Gel which was very soothing, but decided to switch it out for a Pure Aloe Vera, to avoid all those added harsh ingredients, alcohol and fragrances. I read many positive reviews about Plunkett’s Pure Aloe Vera, siting it’s soothing affects and multipurpose use for other skin conditions (i.e rosacea, peeling). I have quite problematic, inflamed red and peeling rash’s at the moment, and am using only very natural products. When I put Plunkett’s aloe vera on, my skin immediately started stinging. After 5 minutes my skin feels really tight and uncomfortable (like wearing a hardening facial masque). I’m yet to see if this helps soothe the appearance of my skin and speed up the healing process. Fingers crossed it does. But I’m for sure surprised the reaction my skin had to this product given its 99% pure, in comparison to the soothing effects I felt from other aloe’s that had added alcohol, fragrance and other chemicals.

Good morning Shea,
Sorry to hear you are not happy with our Aloe Vera Gel.
Our Aloe Vera Gel is 99% pure and therefore highly concentrated. Aloe Vera is a very active ingredient as it contains vitamins, minerals and amino acids and perhaps you are reacting because it is so pure. Or you may be reacting to our preservative. Which is less then 1%.-Definitely no alcohol or fragrance.

Because our product is so pure we have to use a very robust preservative system to protect the integrity of the Aloe Vera.

I am happy to offer you a refund as I do not want you to be out of pocket for a product you cannot use.

Please email me at info@plunketts.com.au with the batch number and expiry date and I will organise that for you.

Take care
