Dark spots, hyperpigmentation, freckles and age spots can feel like a flashing light on your forehead, there for the world to see. When you look in the mirror it's all you see and you're ready to say goodbye. We know how annoying, embarrassing and self-esteem reducing these skin discolourations can be. There are a lot of products and services that claim to get rid of dark spots and this can be confusing. So, we figure that to understand how to get rid of dark spots it's essential to know how your skin works and how you got them in the first place.
What is Pigmentation?
Pigmentation is another word for your skin colour. Your skin consists of 3 layers, each of these layers has a purpose. In the dermis layer of the skin, there are cells called melanocytes. The melanocyte's purpose is to produce melanin which is your skin colour. Sometimes our melanocytes don't behave and produce an excess of colour which results in flat brown marks, freckles, skin blemishes, age spots and hormonal marks. These discolourations are also sometimes known as hyperpigmentation
How Did I Get Hyperpigmentation, Freckles and Age Spots?
There are a few ways you can get dark or uneven pigmentation. Over exposure or repeated exposure to the sun. Or in other cases, it can be hormonal changes, a hereditary disposition or your skin type. Regardless of how you got the hyperpigmentation, the result is the same. In your skin's dermis, melanocytes are producing more pigment or colour than it should, resulting in uneven pigmentation
How Do I Avoid Hyperpigmentation, Freckles and Age Spots?
In Australia, the most common form of hyperpigmentation is from accumulated sun damage over a period of time. Therefore, the best way to avoid dark spots or uneven pigmentation is by protecting yourself from the sun. Use a high protective factor sunscreen and avoid the sun wherever possible.
How Do I Remove Hyperpigmentation, Freckles and Age Spots?
There are a variety of methods that are available to remove dark spots. As the experts in pigmentation correction, we recommend Superfade.
Superfade is the only product in Australia designed to inhibit your pigmentation production with the active ingredient Hydroquinone. Hydroquinone is a potent and strong active and is known as the gold standard when it comes to pigmentation correction. Hydroquinone has been clinically proven to fade brown skin blemishes including freckles, hyperpigmentation, dark spots and age spots.
Hydroquinone inhibits melanin production and works by disabling the melanocytes that are producing too much melanin. Basically, hydroquinone tells the cells that create the colour to tone it down. The disabling action stops the movement of melanin and therefore your flat, brown marks begin to fade.
Superfade Cream and Face Cream are Pharmacy Medicines under the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) legislation. This means that if you are in Australia you can only purchase from a pharmacy. For our international customers we have recently made it available for you to purchase online. If you use or are intending to use Superfade always read the label. Use only as directed. If fading is not evident after three months, or if the brown spot or mole has recently darkened or changed please seek medical advice.

This is really effective at fading brown marks on my face and forehead plus darker freckles on my nose, I've used it twice a day for 4 weeks and can see the difference already.

Around 4 months ago I noticed I had some pigmentation under my eyes. It was very embarrassing as I constantly got asked about it. I tried many expensive beauty products with no improvement. I came across your product while desperately trying to figure out what I could do next. I have been using Superfade twice a day (three times was a bit to much for my skin) for the last three weeks. It has incredibly reduced the pigmentation as it is now not visible. Honestly the best product I have used and so inexpensive. Thank you so much for giving me my face back.
Time is the other factor. As we mentioned, it can take years for sun damage to become dark spots, so it makes sense that it's going to take time to reverse the effects. When using Superfade follow the directions and allow at least 6-8 weeks to see results. As always if you start to see an irritation stop using it. Superfade has a heritage of 30 years and is the most trusted hyperpigmentation corrector.
How Do I Prevent Hyperpigmentation, Freckles and Age Spots?
If you are on a mission to reduce your dark pigmentation then stop going into the sun. Sun exposure you had five years ago could start producing a dark spot at any time. So if you don't want dark spots, stop going in the sun!
Your skin is precious so take care of it and it will age you gracefully. Protect your skin cells by using a sunscreen. And if you are after a trusted and proven method for kicking your dark spots then give Superfade a go, after all, it is the gold standard!
